New Blended Intensive Programme
Transnational Hometowns


For whom: B.A. and M.A. students of English studies
Time and venue: 1-6 September 2024, Technical University of Liberec (Czechia),

During this project teaching documentary filmmaking for beginners and focusing on transnational perspectives you will:

•    edit a documentary film about your hometown or University town;
•    focus on transnational scenes, events or topics, e.g., migration, international events, globally recognizable residents, expat life, Erasmus experience, etc.  
•    cooperate with international partners while making the films and / or during postproduction
•    receive ECTS credits for your studies and work

To apply, you need to submit to Faculty Erasmus Coordinator, dr Monika Kopytowska (monika.kopytowska@uni.lodz.pl) the following documents:

1. A short application letter explaining why you want to participate in the programme.
2. An outline of your film (800-1000 words) addressing the following questions:
•    What transnational topic are you planning to research and film?
•    Who are you planning to interview in the film?
•    Which places are you planning to show in your documentary?
•    What will be the documentary narration style?
•    What will be the detailed production and story structure?

Application deadline: 2 April 2024.

To fully qualify for the BIP grant (covering travel expenses) you will need to make a documentary by 30 June 2024.
